Yesterday (05/06/26), members of UAA attended an inspiring event at Mind called Intersecting Voices, which explored the connections between mental health, neurodivergence, identity, and lived experience within Global Ethnic Majority communities.
We heard insightful presentations from:
🔹 Stacey Bryan (Mind) – Understanding Mental Health in Black and Racialised Communities 🔹 Tre Ventour-Griffiths – Creative Writer, Sociologist, Black History Consultant and Historian – Neurodiversity and Lived Experience 🔹 Shumi Plastow (SEND Hearts) – Intersectionality: Mental Health, Neurodivergence and Identity
What made the event particularly powerful was the openness of participants. People shared their personal experiences, challenges, and journeys, creating a safe and supportive space for honest discussion and reflection.
A big thank you to Mind, the speakers, organisers, and everyone who contributed to such an engaging and meaningful event.
