At UAA, we prioritise the welfare of our beneficiaries and potential service users by conducting welfare checks.
We offer advice on a range of issues, and if needed, we connect individuals with relevant experts for a more personalized service.
We take our welfare calls seriously as they enable us to identify immediate needs and assist those who reach out to us. These checks are crucial in alleviating the anxieties of our service users, especially when their concerns can be quickly addressed over a phone call.
The majority of the welfare calls we receive are from individuals with No Recourse to Public Funds status who are experiencing economic and health challenges, victims of domestic abuse, lone parents, international students, families at risk of homelessness, individuals temporarily unable to work due to workplace accidents, and unemployed families.
United African Association (UAA) provides welfare services that support people facing hardship, crisis, and social exclusion. This includes help for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, immigration difficulties, job and benefit issues, food poverty, and other urgent challenges.
UAA offers practical advice, guidance, signposting, and follow-up support to help people access the right services and move towards stability. Where needed, the organisation also accompanies beneficiaries through difficult situations, helping them connect with housing, health, legal, welfare, and other community support services.
Also that we provide welfare support to over 4000 people annually.
UAA works with a range of welfare support partners to help people facing homelessness, domestic abuse, immigration difficulties, poverty, and other urgent challenges. These partners may include local authorities, social services, NHS services, schools, domestic abuse organisations, immigration support services, community law services, and other voluntary and community organisations.
Through these partnerships, UAA is able to signpost, refer, and follow up cases so beneficiaries can access the most suitable help for housing, health, legal advice, family support, essentials, and wider wellbeing needs.
