IT and Job Club Brief

The Job club is a vital resource for individuals with little to no experience in basic IT skills seeking to enhance their skills, improve their interview techniques, and gain practical experience. In a supportive environment available, we assist those with healthcare
sponsorship issues including those whose employers’ licences have been revoked. Sponsored by WNC, the Job club is held every Wednesday from 10:30 am to 4 pm in the UAA downstairs office.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the IT and Job club are to equip participants with the necessary skills to secure employment in the IT and care sector and to provide a platform for networking and professional growth. This is achieved through a combination of IT training,
interview skills practice, and CV revamping services.

IT Training

The IT training component of the Job club focuses on providing participants with hands-on experience in various basic computer appreciation skills, which are essential for success in today’s technology-driven job market designed to address this growing demand by teaching introduction to Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint and use of Artificial intelligence in problem solving.

Interview Skills Practice

In addition to IT training, the Job club also provides participants with the opportunity to practice their interview skills. This is a crucial aspect of the job search process, as research has shown that many job seekers struggle with interview preparation.

CV Revamping

The Job club also offers CV revamping services, which are designed to help participants create effective CVs that showcase their skills and experience. A well-crafted CV is essential for making a positive impression on potential employers, as it is often the first point of contact between the candidate and the hiring manager.
