Today, United African Association was delighted to join West Northamptonshire Council’s Black History Month celebration at One Angel Square.

We had the honour of opening the event with our drumming, sharing the rhythms and energy of African culture! 🌍🎶

It was inspiring to hear from the panellists about their experiences, the challenges they overcame and their contributions to our wider community. Among them was Morcea Walker MBE, a longstanding champion of education and community life in Northamptonshire and a Pro Chancellor at the University of Northampton.

A special thank you to Gifty Beckley, Co-Chair of the Council’s Equality, Ethnicity and Diversity Network, and everyone involved in bringing the celebration together. Thank you for welcoming us and creating space for these important stories.

We hope to join you again next year! ❤️
