Last Saturday, 20/06/26, United African Association held a cancer awareness and screening session as part of a wider project delivered in partnership with General Practice Alliance and Cancer Research UK.
The aim of the project is to train community leaders so they can confidently lead cancer conversations within their own communities. This session was delivered by trained community leaders and focused on cancer awareness, symptoms, risk factors and the importance of screening.
Participants took part in a cancer awareness quiz and worked in groups, which encouraged discussion, social interaction and a strong sense of community. We had 12 participants in attendance.
We would also like to thank Koulla Jolley from Northampton Town Council for attending the session and showing her support.
