United African Association (UAA)

On (28/08/26), we had a great time coming together, chatting, sharing experiences and having plenty of laughs.

One of our conversations was about farming and allotments. Karam has an allotment, Mama Florence has another with her church, and UAA also has our own plot — all at the St David’s Allotments! 🌱🥬 It was lovely sharing ideas and talking about what everyone is growing.

But these get-togethers are about much more than just having a cup of tea and a chat. Their main purpose is to bring people together, reduce social isolation and support mental wellbeing. We know how much loneliness and isolation can affect people’s mental health, so having a welcoming space where people can talk, laugh, make friendships and feel part of a community is really important. ❤️

We were also very pleased to visit The Place to Bee, run by The Cube. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and it has such a lovely atmosphere.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. We really enjoyed your company and look forward to the next one! 😊
