United African Association (UAA) is delighted to report the successful launch of its new Youth Club, funded by the Northamptonshire Young People’s Fund. The project officially began during the first weekend of May 2026 and has already demonstrated strong community engagement, providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for young people and their families.
The Youth Club aims to reduce social isolation among young people, improve confidence and wellbeing, provide safe recreational activities, develop life skills and communication skills, encourage community participation and strengthen positive relationships.
Before the project commenced, volunteers successfully completed safeguarding training and received certificates. Volunteers also undertook First Aid Training, equipping them with essential skills to support participants and maintain a safe environment. The Youth Club is registered with the Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs (NAYC), demonstrating UAA’s commitment to recognised standards of youth work and good practice.
The Youth Club operates on alternate weekends and is divided into two age groups: young people aged 12–16 and young adults aged 17–25. Activities are tailored to the needs and interests of each group.
Sessions include indoor games, pool, table football, social activities, group discussions, wellbeing support, team-building exercises and opportunities for
personal development.
Parents and family members are encouraged to attend and observe activities, allowing them to see how their children interact with others, build friendships and develop confidence in a supportive environment.
The response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. During the first month alone, the Youth Club recorded over 70 attendances, including young people and family members. Participants have reported increased confidence, new friendships and a stronger sense of belonging within the community.
Miss Anne – Manager
“Being part of the Youth Club has been a truly rewarding experience. It is wonderful to see young people come together in a safe and positive environment where they can build friendships, gain confidence and feel supported. Our aim is to create a welcoming space where every young person feels valued, listened to and encouraged to reach their potential.”
Mr Muchie – Project Manager
“The Youth Club has shown how important it is to provide young people with positive activities and trusted adults around them. In just a short time, we have seen young people becoming more confident, more engaged and more comfortable taking part. I am proud to help manage a project that is making a real difference for young people and families in our community.”
Mr Ezeh – Project Coordinator
“Coordinating the Youth Club has been a great opportunity to work directly with young people and support them through fun, structured and meaningful activities. It is inspiring to see them enjoy themselves, make new friends and take part in games, sports and discussions. The project is helping young people feel connected, included and motivated.”

“The Youth Club has given me somewhere positive to spend my weekends, make new friends and take part in activities I enjoy. I feel more confident talking to people and being involved in the community. The volunteers are supportive and make everyone feel welcome. I look forward to every session.”
