Members of the United African Association went to see Once Upon a Time in Sokoto by Inua Ellams at Royal & Derngate in Northampton.

Set against the events leading to the creation of Nigeria, the play tells the story of an unlikely friendship between an enslaved woman and her former master. It explores how people overcome differences in faith, culture and heritage when faced with new challenges.

Sharing cultural experiences is a lovely way for our members to connect, explore African stories and spend time together.
