The United African Association (UAA) provides practical food support to individuals and families who are experiencing financial hardship, food insecurity or difficult circumstances.
Our Food Support Project combines emergency food assistance with affordable food, community meals and welcoming spaces where people can receive support in a friendly and respectful environment.
Our Foodbank provides essential food parcels to individuals and families in need, including culturally appropriate food items that reflect the communities we support.
We work to make sure people experiencing hardship can access food with dignity while also being connected to other support and services where needed.
Our Food Larder gives people the opportunity to access a selection of food at an affordable cost.
Each food parcel is £5, helping households stretch their budgets while still having access to a useful range of food products.
The larder provides an alternative to emergency food support and helps families manage the continuing pressures of the cost of living.
Our regular Community Lunches bring people together to enjoy a freshly prepared meal in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Our community lunches are particularly valuable for people who may otherwise eat alone or have limited opportunities to socialise.
UAA provides safe, warm and welcoming spaces where people can spend time during the day, enjoy hot drinks and light refreshments, meet others and access practical support.
People can also use our spaces to access computers, receive one-to-one help and find information about services that may be able to support them.
Food insecurity is often connected to other challenges, including unemployment, housing difficulties, isolation, rising household costs and problems accessing services.
For this reason, our Food Support Project goes beyond providing food. Our staff and volunteers take time to listen, offer practical help and connect people with additional support where appropriate.
We believe everyone should be able to access food and support without judgement.
Through our Foodbank, Food Larder, Community Lunches and Welcoming Spaces, UAA helps people through difficult periods while creating opportunities for friendship, connection and a stronger sense of belonging.
