Dementia Pathway Project for Black Communities

The UNITED AFRICAN ASSOCIATION is working with SUPPORT NORTHAMPTONSHIRE on a Dementia Pathway Project for Black Communities, which is funded by the NHS Integrated Commissioning Board (NHS ICB), that has started in February 2025 and will end in November 2025.
The Key Purpose of this project is to develop an equitable, accessible, culturally appropriate, compassionate and effective dementia race equality plan that delivers effective care and support for people affected by dementia and their carers from Black communities. Ensure that dementia care and support are accessible, culturally sensitive, and equitable for all individuals regardless of their racial or ethnic backgrounds.
We are also looking to Identify 5 people from the African and African-Caribbean community to assess their barriers and support them to access the right support and services.
